All About Ms. Deni

Dear Second Grade Super Stars,

Hi everyone!  This is my very first year of teaching, not just at CRSS, but ever!  I graduated from Saint Catherine University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in December 2010.  I hold a preK-6 teaching license.  Just like you, I’m also still in school.  I am now working on a master’s degree in library and information science at St. Kate’s, specializing in school library media services.  In case you haven’t guessed, I love to read!  I hope you do too.  I can’t wait to help you find books that you love.

I was born and raised and still live in Faribault.  Before I started my teaching career, I worked at Rust Consulting, Inc. as a project manager for nearly thirteen years.  I completed my student teaching in 3rd grade at Jefferson Elementary in Faribault and in kindergarten at Greenvale Park Elementary in Northfield.  After that, I spent a few months as a substitute teacher.  In my free time, I enjoy yoga, cooking, baking, poetry, and spending time with my family.  I also teach Sunday school and volunteer with the Humane Society.

I am so excited to be teaching 2nd grade at CRSS!  I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or even if you just want to talk about books!
