Ms. Westphal’s Class
We are in the midst of our second trimester together and have gained so much knowledge and are learning so many new things.
Here is what we are completing and are looking forward to as we continue our learning in trimester 2:
Reading: digraphs and blends, short and long vowel sounds, word sorts with Words Their Way, guided reading groups working on reading strategies
Writing: completion of our short stories and circle story writing in our Laura Numeroff Unit
Math: completion of our 2D and 3D shapes in our Geometry unit, introduction to addition and subtraction with numbers to 10
Science: completion of our birds unit by creating an “All About Birds” book, introduction to engineering through a study of civil engineers
Engineering: bridges
Social Studies: Community Helpers, Dental Health Month
