Responsive Classroom
In our kindergarten classrooms we use the Responsive Classroom approach to guide and teach our students life skills, community building, and academics. We will be working with the kindergarteners each day on skills ranging from conflict resolution to making academic choices. We hope that the Responsive Classroom approach will enrich our kindergarteners year at school and build a positive classroom community!
Here is a look at what the kinders are working on in February and March:
Learning about listening and discussing through sharing in morning meeting
Learning about and applying how to show feelings
Learning about and applying how to help friends when they have angry, sad, scared, or happy feelings
Continuing to apply our learning of Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy, Self Control
We will also continue to conduct morning meetings, academic choices in our addition and subtraction unit and literacy centers, and work out problems through classroom problem solving meetings.
